Bus Tracking (Courtesy) – Preferred Customer, Select locations

Avis Courtesy Bus tracking is a feature that allows the customer to track the Avis Courtesy buses using the app at select locations on the following screens:


The Courtesy Bus Tracking screen will show the customer’s current location, the Avis location’s pick up point, additional pick up points, and the buses themselves.

Cancel Reservation – Any Customer, Any Car, Any Location

The Avis App allows all customers to cancel their reservation, with or without a wizard number. If a customer uses their wizard number to create the reservation, then the customer must be logged in to the app to cancel.

Change Return Location (Extend) – Preferred customer, Any Car, Connected Location

Preferred customers renting from Connected locations have the ability to change their return location and extend their rental from their Avis App.

Confirm Vehicle – Preferred Customer, Any Car, Any Location

Preferred customers will receive a notification confirming their vehicle has been assigned. It does not have to be a connected location or a connected car.

At a Secured Location, a customer will be given a stall number which will allow them to bypass the counter.

At a Non-Secured Location, the customer must still go to the Preferred Booth.

Note: A Preferred Customer must rent from a Connected Location in order to access the options to Exchange or Upgrade through Avis App.

Connected Car – Available Only at Connected Locations

A Connected Car is a car that allows functions of the vehicle and rental process to be controlled remotely.

Connected Cars are only available at Connected Locations.

In the Avis App, when the car is connected, the customer wills ee the Connected car symbol by the image of the vehicle.

Connected Location – Location that offers Connected Cars 

A Connected Location is a location that offers Connected Cars and Connected Features within Avis App. Connected Locations also offer Non-Connected Cars.

Create Reservation – Any Customer, Any Car, Any Location

Any customer can create a reservation for any location using the Avis App. They do not have to be logged in with a Wizard profile. They can create for a Connected or Non-Connected location.

Preferred Customers will receive a push notification mid-rental advising of the curbside drop-off option.

Customer Requirements

The Avis app is available to any customer. The app can be used without logging in. Non-profile customers can create, modify and cancel reservations from the app. Additional features are only available to customers with a Preferred profile.

To have access to full features of the Avis App, customer’s must have Avis Preferred renter status or higher. Important: Phone number MUST be included in the Profile. Preferred, Preferred Plus, President’s and Chairman’s Club members who meet the customer requirements will have access to Connected Features at Connected Locations.

Exchange Vehicle – Preferred Customer, any Car, Connected Location

Preferred customers renting at Connected Locations have the option to Exchange or Upgrade using the app.  

The App shows information of the assigned vehicle such as: make, model, color, year, MPG and how many passengers the car will accommodate. A Connected Car will show real time fuel and mileage data if a Connected Car.

Find Gas – Preferred Customer, any Car, Connected Location

Preferred Customers renting from a Connected Location can access the feature to Find Gas after they exit the Avis lot (cross the GeoFence). The Find Gas button will appear on the rental dashboard.

Find My Car – Preferred Customer, Connected Car

The Find My Car feature allows customers to locate their vehicle on a map. Preferred customers renting a Connected Car can access the feature to Find My Car after they exit the Avis lot (cross the GeoFence). The Find My Car button will appear on the rental dashboard.

Find Parking – Preferred Customer, Any Car, Connected Location

Find Parking will display local public parking options near them. Preferred Customers renting from a Connected Location can access the feature to Find Parking after they exit the Avis lot (cross the GeoFence). The Find Parking button will appear on the rental dashboard.

Flash Lights – Preferred Customer, Connected Car

Preferred customers renting a Connected car will have the option to Flash the lights of the vehicle.

Full Receipt from Preview – Preferred Customer, Connected Car

Preferred customers renting a Connected car will have the option to view their full receipt after checking in a Connected car.

 

Note: Customers who do not have a connected car will still see a Receipt Preview. They can access their full receipt after the location fully closes their Rental Agreement.

Geofence – Virtual boundary at Connected locations

A Geofence is a virtual fence around a physical space. It creates a boundary around an area that ABG controls.

Preferred customers renting a Connected car will have the option to Lock/Unlock the vehicle using the Avis App.

Modify Profile – Preferred Customers, App Feature

Customers who are logged in can modify their profile information within Avis App. Customer must be logged in to the App using the same password as their Avis.com profile.

Non-Secured Lot

At a Non-Secured lot, the Avis fleet is not secured behind a gate, so the customer must pick up and return the keys from an agent and show their driver’s license at pick up.

Preferred Points – Preferred Customers, App Feature

Preferred customers can view their points balance and the requirements to reach the next service tier level within the app.

Preferred customers also have the option to redeem their points for free rental days, upgrades and counter products within the app.

Push Notifications – Preferred Customers, App Feature

Push notifications are messages that pop up or appear on a mobile device. The user does not have to be using the app or the device for the notifications to push through to their home screen.

Receive Assistance – Preferred Customers, App Feature

From the Home screen, customer can access the Customer Assistance Screen:

 

The customer can also select “Customer Assistance” from the bottom of the Home Screen, which will bring up the number to our main phone line that will allow them to choose the type of assistance they would like.

Rental Summary
The customer can view a Rental Summary in the Avis App at any time during the rental.

Return Rental – Preferred Customers, Connected Location

Preferred customers who are logged in will receive a Push Notification 3 hours prior to their return time to Return and Check-In their vehicle.

One-Click Check In – Preferred customer, Connected Car

Preferred customers renting a Connected Car and returning to a Connected Location can check in their car with One-Click Check in. For expedited return, a push notification will pop up giving the customer instructions on how to check in their vehicle.

Secured Lot

At a Secured lot, the customer can bypass the counter, and the keys are in the vehicle at time of pick up. They will exit through a gate and show their driver’s license to the attendant as the exit booth.

Upon returning at a Secured lot, the customer will leave the keys in the vehicle along with their rental agreement, or check for signed on where to return.

SMS Travel Disruption Service

A customer’s travel plans may be disrupted due to flight delays, diverted flights, or cancelled flights. We can use technology to help these customers through the both Avis and Budget mobile apps and through SMS text messages. Participating airport locations will send notifications to these customers with links and instructions to help them modify or cancel their reservation.

View & Share Past Receipts – Preferred Customer, App feature

Preferred customers logged in to the app can view their full receipts from past rentals.

The “View Full Receipt” button displays on the list of past rentals as well as the rental details screen.

A share icon will display at the top of the receipt, which will let you share it via e-mail, cloud, drive, etc.

View Loyalty Status – Preferred Customer, App feature

Customers who are Preferred or higher can view their Loyalty status, and the points they need to move to the next Loyalty Service Tier. Preferred member must be logged in to the App using the same password as their Avis.com profile.

View Vehicles Liability Insurance Card – Preferred Customer, Connected Car

Preferred customers renting a Connected car can view the vehicle’s Liability Insurance card within the app by clicking on the card icon on the rental dashboard.

The card displays the liability insurance information based on the MCA’s license plate state.

Add SiriusXM radio During Rental – Preferred Customer, any car, Connected Location
Preferred Customers have the ability to add and activate SiriusXM Radio during their rental from the Avis App.

For additional help with SiriusXM Radio, transfer the caller to Specialty Reservations.
